About us

For the last five decades, Niramaya Yog PrasaarwaSanshodhan Kendra, based in Parbhani, Maharashtra, has been relentlessly promoting yoga tradition and practices through a scientific and holistic approach, inculcating ancient knowledge system and fostering physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, through a network of thoroughly trained yoga teachers.

In 1978, Dr. Prashant Patel, a professor at an Agricultural University in Parbhani and a disciple of Paramhansa Swami Satyanand Saraswati, founder of Bihar school of Yoga, along with handful of like-minded individuals, started Yog Mitra Mandal, an informal association of followers of Yoga, with a vision of promoting yoga to a wider section of society. What began as a weekly class with just a few participants, it gradually blossomed into a widespread movement, spreading from the city to the district and then across multiple districts of Maharashtra, bringing more people on the path of yoga.

The organization is deeply rooted in the threefold philosophy of Jigyasa (inquiry), Sadhana (Practice) and Prabodhan (sharing and educating), Its guiding motto,‘प्रत्येक कामासाठी कार्यकर्ता आणि प्रत्येक कार्यकर्त्यासाठी काम,’ reflecting a commitment to meaningful participation and responsibility for every individual. The organization firmly believes that while the individual is important, the organization holds greater significance and above all, it is the enduring tradition of yoga that remains paramount.

With a vibrant network of over 1100 yoga teachers spread across India and a rich publication portfolio of more than 20 books covering diverse dimensions of yoga such as philosophy, practice, therapy and spiritual wisdom, Niramay has steadily expanded its reach and impact. Through the regular organization of yoga camps designed to promote general well being as well as address specific therapeutic needs, it has touched the lives of thousands. Blending knowledge with practice and compassion with service, Niramay continues to offer the timeless gifts of swasthya (health), shanti (peace) and anand (bliss) to the society.
